Welcome to Relo Blogo!

Let me tell you what I am doing and why. I am constantly surfing the Internet and looking for web sites and blogs that speak to the relocation industry. More specifically, I am always looking for information regarding Relocation Departments within Real Estate companies and what they are doing, trends they are spotting, challenges they are facing, etc. As such, I began to think about the usefulness of creating a forum that would encourage the continuous exchange of information and ideas among relocation directors and other relocation professionals. It could serve as a primary source for obtaining and contributing valuable industry related information.
In creating Relo Blogo, my goal is to encourage open communication among relocation professionals who have many years of relocation experience, as well as to provide those who are new to relocation a venue for asking questions and increasing their knowledge by tapping into the insight of these more experienced relocation professionals.

“Virtual RD”

In my quest to develop and implement best practices for my company’s Relocation Department, I have often solicited the opinions and advice of other prominent Texas based Relocation Directors, and they have solicited the same of me. The more we communicated, the more we saw the benefit of sharing ideas, know-how and experiences. It was quickly decided that we would formalize the structure of our discussions and invited other senior level relocation professionals from non-competing real estate markets to join our group. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and almost overnight the “Virtual RD” (Virtual Relocation Directors) group was formed. We now meet regularly (virtually, of course), to brainstorm, share ideas and openly discuss our various common issues, while promoting the reciprocal referral exchange among the group members. Collectively, we are committed to the implementation of industry best practices, which benefit our respective departments, companies and clients, while raising the standards for all others within our profession.

Let’s Get Started…

Ok, so that’s the premise. I look forward to sharing information, ideas, links and anything else that is pertinent to our mutual success!
