Certified Relocation Professional Designation

by Michelle Sandlin on June 16, 2009

It’s official! After all of my hard work, self-studying, study groups and prep classes, I am very proud to announce that I have earned my CRP Designation from the Worldwide ERC (Employee Relocation Council). The process was like giving birth, so please forgive my gloating.

So what does it all mean to me, my company, my profession and my industry?

Established in 1990, the Worldwide ERC’s CRP Program has quickly become a symbol of professionalism and is the relocation industry’s premier certification program. The CRP designation formally recognizes those individuals who have mastered extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of relocation. A major purpose of this program is the achievement of a common and universal understanding of the entire employee relocation field and recognition of those professionals who demonstrate mastery.

I recently met with relocation veteran Steve Rogers, President of Transitional Solutions LLP and long-time member of the relocation community. I asked him to tell me what is important to corporate clients and the third party relocation management companies with regards to choosing real estate partners to work with their employees and transferees. He had this to say:

“Vendor services and procurement departments look at the designations of their partners. Those with a CRP designation from Worldwide ERC will always get the first call. This is very important to the corporate client and the corporate voice carries a lot of weight.”

I am very proud of this achievement, which represents my steadfast commitment to the professional standards set forth by the relocation industry, as well as my comprehensive knowledge of its important principles and practices.

With special thanks to the management team at John Daugherty, Realtors for their continued encouragement and support in my obtaining my CRP designation.
