Steve Rogers (HRP President), Michelle Sandlin, John A. Daugherty, Jr.
I am very excited to share some wonderful news with you! On Friday, it was announced that the Houston Relocation Professionals would be adding 4 new Board Members in 2010. Each has agreed to serve a 3-year term. Those new Board members are: Brian Smith with Chase Home Finance, Mike Larson with Anadarko Petroleum, Charles Ameno with Chevron Corporation…AND…Michelle Sandlin with John Daugherty, Realtors. I can’t tell you what an honor this is for me! I have been an active member of HRP since 2000 and have served for the past 3 years on their Membership Committee.
As a Board member, I will be working to assist the Board in their communications programs, which will include enhancements to the Web Site (www.houstonrelopros.org) and new social networking initiatives. I look very forward to assisting the Board in taking this great organization to the next level.
Steve Rogers, President of HRP, has given me a great deal of support over the past year. I could not have been happier when he called me early last week to give me the news. When I told him that he made my whole month, he jokingly reminded me that the month was only half over.
The mission of HRP is to two fold: (1) promote the exchange of information and ideas regarding relocation policies and practices; (2) provide learning opportunities including continuing education and accreditation for the Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) designationin conjunction with Employee Relocation Council (ERC) guidelines.
The Houston relocation community is supported by a growing number of relocation professionals, many of whom are members of HRP. Membership in this organization has afforded me many business opportunities over the past several years. As such, I highly encourage all Houston relocation professionals to join HRP and get involved. If you are already a member, but haven’t been to an event in a while, come to the Holiday Social on December 9th. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how much this group has grown.
