Michelle Sandlin

Michelle Sandlin is a native Texan who grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, but has been calling Houston “home” since 1985, the same year that she began her real estate career. Michelle attended LSU and later graduated Cum Laude from the University of Houston, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and a minor in Psychology.

Michelle enjoys an exciting and well-rounded real estate career that has allowed her to successfully combine her extensive experience in real estate, relocation, marketing, business development and technology.  For nearly 10 years, Michelle’s career focus has been on the relocation industry; as such she intimately understands the ins and outs of the entire relocation process.

At John Daugherty, Realtors, Michelle provides the strategic leadership and direction for our Global Relocation Services Division, which serves many international corporations and organization, relocation companies, and Brokers throughout the U.S. and internationally through our membership in Leading Real Estate Companies of the World and LuxuryRealEstate.com.

Always striving to provide the very best in real estate and relocation services to our clients, Michelle developed and implemented a very comprehensive Relocation Training & Certification Program for our company.  She was also instrumental in establishing additional minimum standards and requirements in order for our agents to be eligible for relocation referrals.  The success of our internal relocation training program has lead to many requests from relocation companies and corporate clients for Michelle to provide similar training for their staff on an on-going basis.  As an added benefit, all of Michelle’s classes have been approved for CRP credit from Worldwide ERC.

Michelle loves writing, and has a passion for her Houston Relocation Blog, which addresses a variety of topics of interest to the relocation industry, corporate clients, transferees, relocation professionals and Houston in general. She is also a contributing writer for Mobility magazine (the monthly publication of Worldwide ERC).  Michelle has become a relocation industry “go-to” person and resource, and is frequently written about and quoted in various newspapers and publications. Always embracing the ever-changing technology, Michelle has become an expert on social networking and how it is affecting and reshaping our industry.  As such, she is often invited to speak at relocation conferences and events, where she imparts her knowledge and expertise to members of the relocation industry.

Michelle holds her CRP (Certified Relocation Professional) designation.  This designation formally recognizes those individuals who have mastered extensive knowledge on the principles and practices of relocation.   A major purpose of this program is the achievement of a common and universal understanding of the entire employee relocation field and recognition of those professionals who demonstrate mastery.

Michelle is a licensed real estate Broker, and a proud member of the following organizations:

Michelle is a founding Board Member of the Nancy Owens Memorial Foundation (NOMF), which is dedicated to raising money for the fight against breast cancer.  In 2006, Michelle and the other members of the NOMF Board were presented with the John E. Wolf Citizenship Cup Award.  This prestigious award is given by the Houston Association of Realtors to a member of the Association who has made outstanding contributions to the community.
